Ingredients
3/4c sugar
2c warm water
2c pecan halves
1t cinnamon
1/2t cayenne pepper or chipotle powder
Preparation
Heat oven to 350. Line a jelly roll pan with parchment paper. Place 1/2c sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium low heat; stir until sugar dissolves. Turn off heat, add pecans, and stir to coat. Soak for 10 minutes then drain. Place remaining 1/4c sugar, cinnamon and pepper in a plastic bag; shake to combine. Add pecans, shake to coat. Transfer nuts to jelly roll pan; bake about 10 minutes, or until golden. Cool before using.
