Ingredients
Meatablls:
1 pound ground beef
1 egg beaten
2 tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon dried or 2-3 tablespoons fresh onion
Pepper
Oil
Sauce:
2 green peppers cut in strips
Oil
2 1/2 cups chicken consumme
1/2 cup vinegar
1/2 cup sugar
Soy sauce
Corn Starch
2 tomatoes cut in wedges
1 can pineapple chunks, drained
Preparation
Comtine beef and egg, add remaining meatball ingredients except oil. Form into 1 inch meatballs, brown in hot oil. Drain on paper towels. Chicken, beef, or pork chunks may be used in place of the ground beef.
Saute one-half the pepper strips in oil until tender. Add sonsumme, vinegar, sugar, and enough soy sauce to color dark brown. Thicken with corn starch mixed to a smooth paste with a little water. Bring to a boil; add tomatoes and pineapple, simmer for five minutes. Stir in remaining pepper and add to meat.
