Ingredients
1/4 cup coarse salt
1 tablespoon finely grated lime zest, plus 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice (about 6 limes total)
1 1/2 teaspoons file powder or green tea powder (optional)
4 ounces tequila
4 ounces green fruit-juice blend
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
Preparation
Stir salt, lime zest, and file or green tea powder, if using, in a shallow dish. Put lime juice in another shallow dish. Dip rims of 8 shot glasses in juice, then in salt mixture, tapping off excess. Set aside.
Put tequila, juice blend, lime juice, and crushed ice in a cocktail shaker or pitcher. Shake or stir to combine. Pour through a fine sieve into prepared glasses, dividing evenly. Serve immediately.
