While they are cooking, grate carrots beats and apple#
Put all spices into that mixture (carrots + beats + apple), include chopped garlic (optional) and lemon juice. You can add a table spoon of wine if you wish to preserve the color. But generally any acid will preserve it. More lemon juice – brighter your borscht!#
