Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (can substitute chicken or turkey for a healthier version)

1/2 c. diced onion

2 cans kidney beans*

1 can black beans(or other beans)*

1-2 Tbsp. chili pepper (depends on how much spice you like)

1 tsp. Salt

1/2 tsp. black pepper

1 tsp. cumin

1 clove garlic minced (or 1 tsp. granulated garlic)

16 oz. tomato sauce

*Do not drain the beans, add liquid and beans to the chili

Preparation

  1. Brown the ground beef (or turkey/chicken)in a large skillet.
  2. Add onion and garlic to the beef and sauté until the onions are tender and translucent
  3. Add the beef/onion mixture and the rest of the ingredients to a 4 quart pot and simmer for 20 minutes.

serve with sour cream and cheddar cheese and enjoy!
