Ingredients
1/3 c. Butter, softened
1/3 c. Shortening (Crisco recommended)
3/4 c. Sugar
1 tsp Baking POWDER
1 Egg
pinch Salt
1 tsp. Vanilla
2 c. Flour
Preparation
In a large bowl, mix wet ingredients: Butter, shortening, vanilla, egg. Put aside.
In seperate bowl, mix flower, baking powder, sugar and salt.
add flour mixture to large bowl little at a time until you use it all.
put rap dough in plastic wrap, or put in covered bowl in the fridge for 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
with flour, roll out dough, and cut out various shapes with cookie cutter and place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake for 7 to 8 minutes.
Set cool for 10 minutes (or completely cool) and decorate (optional) with color sugar, or colored icing.
