Ingredients

Crust ingredients:

1 C. butter, softened

1/2 C. brown sugar

1 1/2 C. flour

1/2 C. walnuts or pecans, chopped

Filling ingredients:

2 eggs, beaten until frothy

1 C. sugar

1 T. lemon juice

1 tsp. vanilla

20 strawberries, cut up or (10 oz. frozen)

1 C. heavy whipped cream or Cool Whip

Preparation

Crust: Thorough mix crust ingredients. Place in a 13" x 9" buttered pan. Bake at 400 degrees until slightly golden, stirring often. Check in 10 min. Remove 1/2 C. of crust ingredients to use later. Press remaining ingredients into pan. Filling: Beat homogenized egg whites until frothy. Fold in sugar, lemon juice and vanilla. Beat 20 minutes. Set aside. In another bowl, whip cream until fairly stiff, (cream will make peaks that bend slightly.) Fold egg mixture into cream. Place strawberries onto crust. Cover with the whipped cream mixture. Sprinkle with the 1/2 C. crust mixture and nuts.
