Ingredients
1.5 cups self rising flour
1 stick butter
3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
9 oz. fresh strawberries, halved
2 tablespoon light brown sugar
Preparation
METHOD:
- Preheat the oven to 325F.
- Grease and line an 8-inch round cake tin.
- Add the flour, butter, sugar, egg, milk, vanilla extract in an electric mixer bowl and mix with low speed for 30 second and continue to mix with medium speed for 2-3 minutes, or until well combined.
- Pour the batter in the greased and lined cake tin.
- Place the fresh strawberry halves (cut side down) gently on top of the batter and scatter with the brown sugar.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes or until a cake tester comes out clean.
- Cool in cake tin on a wire rack for 5 minutes and remove the cake from tin and continue to cool further on the wire rack.
- It is best served warm with whipped cream.
