Ingredients
Compote
2 Cups fresh Strawberries (diced)
1 Cup fresh pear (diced), sweet apple will also work
1 Tbls fresh mint (finely chopped)
1/2 Cup Dark Chocolate Balsamic Vinegar, any good Balsamic will do
1 Tbls Honey
Pinch of salt
Toast
1 Baguette
1 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp sugar
Olive oil
Preparation
Compote Simply mix all the Compote ingredients in a medium bowl and let sit for at least an hour in the refrigerator.
Toast Slice the baguette in 1/4-1/2 in. slices, drizzle with olive oil then sprinkle with cinnamon sugar mixture. Bake in 450 degree oven for 8-10 minutes, or until crispy but not hard. Let cool.
Serve a spoonful of Compote on each piece of toast, serve imidiatly. I suggest letting your guest top the toast themselves so the toast does not get soggy.
