Ingredients
4 eggs
1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce 1/2 cup water
1 teaspoon each of oregano and basil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
8 slices white bread, divided
1 cup (4 ounces) shreddded mozzarella cheese divided
2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
Preparation
In meduim bowl with fork or whisk beat eggs just until blended. Beat in tomato sauce, water, oregano, basil, salt and garlic powder, set aside. In greased 8-9 inch square baking dish arrange 4 slice bread. Evenly pour on half tomato mixture, sprinkle with half the mozzarella, repeat layers sprinkle top with parmesan cheese. Cover let stand at least 1 hour or refrigerate overnight
Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 45 to 55 minutes until puffed and browned. Serve immediately.
