Ingredients

8 cups bread (stale)

3 eggs

4 2/3 cups warm milk

1 cup saltana raisins

2 1.4 cup sugar

1 tsp baking powder

1 tsp salt

Sauce

3 eggs

1 1/4 cup icing sugar

3/4 cup heavy cream

1/4 cup or less butter

1/4 cup orange juice

2 tbsp brandy

Preparation

mix all ingredients except bread. Place bread in an oven proof pan 10 x 14 x 3. Pour ingredients over and bake at 350 degrees for 60 to 75 minutes or until brown and puffy. (can be made two days ahead) mix 3 eggs, icing sugar heavy cream 1/4 cup butter (or less), orange juice, and brandy. Pour over bread pudding and bake 15 20 minutes. Let stand 15 min. and serve.
