Ingredients

1/2 cup butter

2 T white corn syrup (Karo)

1 cup brown sugar

Challah

5 eggs

1 cup evaporated milk

1 tsp vanilla

1/4 tsp salt

Preparation

Boil butter, syrup and brown sugar together (caramel mixture) for 1 minute. Grease a 9" x 13" pan and put the caramel mixture in the bottom. Slice the Challah about 1 inch and put on top of the caramel mixture. Beat eggs, milk, vanilla, and salt. Pour over the top of the bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes. When ready to serve, turn the pieces over and the caramel will be on top.
