Ingredients
1/4 c. mashed potatoes
1 Tbsp. and 1 tsp. yeast in 1/3 c. warm water
1 c. milk, scalded
3 Tbsp. shortening
3-4 cups flour
3 Tbsp. sugar
3/4 tsp. salt
1 egg, beaten
Preparation
Beat 1 egg until light. Scald milk, shortening, sugar and salt. Add milk mixture and potato to egg. When mixture is lukewarm, add the yeast. Blend in 3 to 4 cups flour and mix well. Cover with damp cloth and refrigerate until double in size. Roll and cut out. Place ongreased cookie sheet and let rise. Dee-fry until golden
