Ingredients
2 bacon slices- cooked and crumbed
2 14 oz. cans chicken broth
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup quick cooking grits
2 lg. tomatoes, peeled and chopped or 1 can diced
2 tbsp. canned chopped green chiles
1 cup (4 oz) shredded cheddar cheese
Preparation
Cook bacon. Gradually add salt and broth to bacon and drippings and bring to a boil.
Sir in grits tomato, chiles and return to a boil and stir often.
Reduce heat and simmer 15-20 minutes stirring often.
Stir in cheese - cover and let stand 5 minutes.
