Ingredients

canned black beans (2,DO NOT DRAIN)

green bell pepper (1 diced)

canned beef or chicken broth (1/2 C)

S&P ( to taste )

hot sauce ( 1 tsp )

jarred jalapenos ( about five slices, plus 1 tbs. liquid)

*onion powder) ( 1/4 tsp.)

dried cilantro ( 1 tsp.)

Preparation

In a medium sauce pan add both cans of beans, jalapenos, onion powder and S&P, broth, and your favorite hot sauce. Bring to a light boil, then cover and simmer. Meanwhile in a small frying pan, cook the diced bell peppers in 1/2 tbsp. of oil until lightly browned. When done, add to bean mixture and cook for 10 minutes on low. Serve in soup bowls, warm. Top with a garnish of fresh cilantro.
