Ingredients
12 slices of bread cubed (reserve some for top)
2 C. spam or ham, cubed
1/2 C. sharp cheese, grated
4 eggs
grated onions
1 1/2 C. milk
1/4 tsp. salt
Sauce;
1 can mushroom soup
1/2 C. milk
1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
Spread a layer of bread cubes in a 9 x 13" cake pan. Keep some of the bread to add to the top. Cover with grated cheese and grated onions. Place spam over top. Beat 4 eggs, add milk and salt pour over mixture in pan. Put left over bread in frying pan and let brown in butter, place over top of hot dish. Bake 1 1/2 hours in 300 degree oven. Serve in squares with heated mushroom soup thinned with milk for sauce
