Ingredients

1 lb. Ground Beef

1 lb. Italian Sweet or Hot Sausage

1 Large Onion

4 Cloves Garlic

2-16oz. cans Tomatoes, Chopped

2-16 oz. Cans Tomato Puree

1-12 oz. Can Tomato Paste

1 cup Water

2 teaspoons Sugar

2 Bay Leaves

1 Tablespoon dried Oregano

1 Tablespoon dried Basil

1 Tablespoon Black Pepper

1 teaspoon of salt or beef base

1/4 teaspoon Cayenne pepper

Preparation

Saute beef, onion until brown add garlic and spices to release flavor. Combine remaining ingredients and simmer for 2 to 4 hours. Makes about 3 quarts of sauce.
